What I see here is a difference between the styles of wrestling portrayed by Jim Crockett/WCW and WWF/E. Heenan doesn't understand why Schiavone doesn't think of it as entertainment...it's because Schiavone came up via JCP's NWA territory and Kayfabe was still alive and well. Heenan, although around before Vince, probably took on his sense of the business which is that it's a big entertainment program and nothing more. That's probably what divided those two the most.

@vatosharpei Actually he does sports for WSB radio in Atlanta.

Fucking dig Bobby Heenan, where's Shiavone now....oh yeah, working at 7-11 in Oxnard!

@stufaman Well said brother!
-
the greatest broadcaster of all time Tony Schiavone.?
Give me a break.

@niteholler If that's true, then Tony had no right to talk to a legend like Heenan that way! Bobby has more money down his couch cushions than a loser like Tony Schiavone has in the bank!

I always got bad vibes from Tony Schiavone. He acted like a total jerk!

@hardcoreb29 I think part of Heenan's "character" was based off the fact that he was very unhappy with the wcw. If what he says about Schiavone in this interview is true, then it all makes sense as to why a lot of the times he acted the way he did.

@KingKong317 Heenan (along with many other people) has openly said a number of times that he was very unhappy in the wcw.

@landrykkb Agreed the only one that even comes close is Ventura.
Bobby just never did get a announcing partner as great as the Gorilla once he left WWF. It was too bad cause he and Gorilla were VERY entertaining, they could play off one another so well. Too bad Tony was such an ass to him and he was so mistreated in WCW, just another case of WCW missusing great talent, it's a wonder how they lasted as long as they did if you look at it!

Heenan was a genius with entertainment. I suppose this goes with what generation you grow up with. But for me Heenan and Gorilla were my favourite commentators. But Gorilla and Jesse were also great too.
