I too have an arachnoid cyst, im almost 19 now and had this since birth. Ive always had a shunt, well numerous shunts. In june 2009 doctors attempted to make me shunt free too. After surgery i had never felt so hopeless, so much pain and had seizures and fits for the first time, swelling was unbearable too.
I didnt think it was usual to feel so much pain even after this op...

I'm interested to know what exactly happened in the OR room? I did a search on arachnoid cysts as I was advised to undergo an operation to insert a shunt. I have a large arachnoid cyst in my left temporal fossa. I'm so scarred to undergo this surgery! I was really touched by your diary. Even though I'm a stranger to you and live thousands of kilometers away, I can still say a prayer for Dylan. We are all children of God :-).
