@WARVANE The Irish brought whiskey not whisky to the South. Whether its shine, rye, bourbon, or Tennessee, we can thank the Irish. However, as a Southerner I love all my whiskey. I like a straight Jameson on the rocks but even as a native South Carolinian, I will always hold a special place in my heart for aged and fired oak barrel Kentucky whiskey.

I am a Southern American and descendant of the Irish. First, this is a great song by the ghost of Hank Sr. as far as looks go. Second, the South was HEAVILY settled by Irish. Hence Whiskey spelled with the 'ey' and not just a 'Y'. The Irish brought their blue collar work attitude which used to make this country great(before the government was suuposed to baby you) and their passion for liquor. This is how moonshine, Tennessee, Bourbon, and Rye whiskey came about.

@WARVANE for an american you sound pretty UNamerican.are you saying there is something wrong with using an american made product if it gives great results?? triple distilation of even the cheapest ( which is what i drink) jamesons makes it a million times better down the guzzler than any similar priced, easily available whiskey out.you tell me a kentucky whiskey thats better and i bet it costs a million bucks in australia.
