Christine hits rock bottom and Mary Beth is there to help her pick up the pieces. RIVETING performances by both. Sharon won the EMMY for this one, folks! So well-deserved. From the episode "Turn, Turn, Turn - part two"! What a show!

  • Thanks that was amazing, especially considering how little time there is to shoot network shows. The 1st segment with Gless is shot straight through without breaks. I recall there was more to it though. A scene before Mary Beth shows up, where Chris is just blathering nonsense, she's so soaked, that was also rivetting, Am I mistaken?

  • No, you are not mistaken. Good memory! The scene you are referring to is with David (before Mary Beth gets there) and she is a mess. Sharon is amazing in that scene as well. I plan to post it in the near future, along with more when Charlie dies.

  • Absolutely brilliant.

  • ¡GREAT SHOW!, unfortunately I don't seem to have seen all the episodes. They had to deal with alcoholism, cancer, pregnancy, rape and other issues on the show, could it have gotten any more real than that?, they don't do shows like this anymore, they only want us to watch those stupid "reality shows" and other crap. That was quality TV.

  • This could not have been any more stunning if it had been done on the New York stage- or one of the live television plays of the 50's. Tyne and Sharon were a 2-woman showcase EVERY WEEK on TV, and the last 2 minutes of this sequence may just be the finest showcase of woman-to-woman drama ever done. I'm in tears over here.

  • Why, oh why won't they release the complete Cagney and Lacey on either DVD or Blu Ray. I've heard countless people asking about it, so clearly the demand exists, and yet it still has not happened. I reckon we start some kind of petition or something.

  • Still just slays me.

They're just at the peak of their craft here. One of the most affecting things I ever, ever saw on TV. Made a big impact on me. And it's nearly criminal that it's not on DVD so other people can discover it.

Thanks for posting this gem - and all the other C&L clips you have up.

  • doesn't anyone have the seasons recorded on VHS for me to buy

  • Brilliant episode, this one was on on Friday there on itv3, i was glued to the screen all the way through as soon as it was finished i went straight onto itv3+ got my hankies out and watched it all over again. Brill!!

  • I taped this one too and watched it so many times I wore the tape out back in the 80's. It just struck such a chord with me. I miss this show!

  • The episode was called "Turn, Turn, Turn" and it was a two-parter that aired as the last show of Season 5 in the Spring of 1987.

Consumate acting and riveting dialogue. Sharon Gless and Tyne Daly brought us to our emotional knees with episodes like this one.

  • Turn, turn, turn (part two), series 6
