my dog toby is doing the same thing that your dog was doing at the end but then today he started like coughing wierdly... idk wats going on plz help if my dog is sick...

She is "reverse coughing" at the end of the video. The vet has told me its common and nothing to be concerned about. If you have difficulty telling your vet what your dog is doing, show them this video, that is what I did.

Beagles have a soft palette and it causes that "horking" sound.

When I first heard mine do it, I thought he was dying... scared the he'll out of me!

My Vet said it's called the "Reverse Sneeze" and nothing to worry about. Quite common in all dogs if not more so in Beagles. Sometimes my Snoopy will have RS episodes throughout the day and sometimes he'll go days and days without having an one. I asked the vet if certain stimuli,such as weather,heat,cold,snacks ect. cause it and she said no evidence to suggest it. The very first time I saw Snoopy RS'in ,I got real nervous. You see something like that and think your dog is choking.

Oops, sorry. I just watched the video with sound. The noises the cow makes probably had a lot to do with the beagle freaking out.

I think the beagle went crazy because he probably smelled really weird odor inside of the toy cow....the odor combined with the toy's lack of expression seemed to freak out the beagle.

I'm sure you know this but beagles have one of the best senses of smell among canines. In fact, iirc, the feds use beagles to catch drug runners.
