@wayneleon1000 Well, speaking as a Black American (who lived in the South in the 70's and 80's), I've seen my share of those who were afraid and kept quiet. I've also seen my share (a greater number) of those who stayed quiet because they defined dignity as not rising to the lowest level available. There's no shame in that. The oppressed never bear the brunt of shame or the lion's share of blame for the evil done to them. Remember that.

I laugh at the idea of you walking into a group of Black people and proclaiming your "superiority" (because we know you would be quiet as a frigging church mouse if you didn't have a 3 to 1 or better ratio), whereas I've spent my LIFE outnumbered and never kept quiet. You are right on both counts. Outnumbered? Yes, and it was definately institutionlised, but it irks me to this day to think we did not speak out more, like they would have done in America. Yes there were far more black people in the States then here, but they still had the bravery to speak out.

@wayneleon1000 I can tell you two reasons we tolerated it: 1) we were vastly outnumbered and it was institutionalized and 2) we were taught to rise above and be better people. You can even see it in this scene. The humour comes from the fact that this git THINKS he's superior, but the other men are better people- morally- than he is.
