This is a video showing the type of water systems we do in the mountains of the Copper Canyon, Chihuahua, Mexico. Our water ministry to help the Tarahumara Indians physically and show the love of Jesus Christ.
Before criticizing our efforts to prevent more suffering please continue reading below or check for yourself online. You could ask yourself "what am I doing to help the world?"
We receive some negative comments from time to time from people who make rash judgments and are simply ignorant of the work we are doing for the Tarahumara. They think we are trying to change their culture, but that is not what we want to do.
The Tarahumara experience an 80% infant mortality rate and a little less than that for the elderly. This is caused by contaminated drinking water. The Tarahumara women suffer from back problems because they have to spend lots of time traveling long distances to carry water for their families with their babies on their backs. The Tarahumara are also suffering the effects of malnutrition because of drought at least 8 months out of the year.
Our clean water projects are helping to reduce these statistics.
Unclean Water Leads to More Disease...
It is estimated that around 80% of all disease in the world stems from unclean water, poor sanitation, or crude living conditions (hygiene). Fatal cases are most commonly found in the developing countries of the world where the people who are affected by these diseases are less likely to receive appropriate medical attention.
Water and sanitation is directly linked to the health and well being of every person in the world. Clean water has a positive influence on life, while unclean water has the exact opposite, a negative impact.
Common diseases related to poor water supply and sanitation
(information gathered from the World Health Organization)
Diarrhea: about 4 billion cases per year cause 1.8 million deaths, mostly among children under 5 years old.
Intestinal worms: infect about 1 in 10 people in the developing world and the infections can lead to cognitive impairment, anaemia or massive dysentery.
Trachoma: about 6 million people are visually impaired from trachoma. Studies found that the infection rate could be reduced by 27% if an improved water supply were provided.
Schistosomiasis: about 160 million people are infected with schistosomiasis. Studies show that having access to improved water supply and sanitation could reduce the infection rate by up to 77%.
Clean water also helps to end poverty.
One of the best ways to prevent poverty is to fight Disease. Disease has a direct affect on every person, especially in the developing countries. Illness does not allow men and women to hold a job, keeps children from an education, and brings unneeded expenses to the family. The poorest people in the world are also the most unhealthy. Bringing clean water and proper sanitation methods to these people, dramatically increases their health, and leads to a dramatic opportunity for decrease in poverty.
With so many negative factors from income, to education, and time spent fetching water, a family is dramatically affected by the lack of access to clean water. Depending on each specific situation, there are factors that come into play that dictate the very survival of each family. When a family does not have the ability to have a steady income or send children to school, it ultimately results in a negative affect sometime in the future.
These factors determine the economic standing of families throughout the developing nations of the world. Imagine never being able to have a full time job because you had to make sure that you water bucket was full. Imagine never having the opportunity to go to school, simply because you had to walk to the nearest river that may be 5 miles away just to get water for your family.
And not only do humans need water, but most impoverished families in rural settings have animals that they use for food or to sell as income. These animals must have water just the same as humans. There are so many things that play into the status of every family that lacks access to clean water.

I am interested in getting information about helping get clean water, wind generated electricity, and possibly portable brickmaking machines for those in need. I am wondering if we had well drilling rigs to drill wells why we couldn't drop waterpumps into the wells that would be driven by windmills that could also run generators to produce electricity. With water for drinking and sanitation needs met, surplus water could be used for irrigation, livestock, and making bricks. em: agc3fcn@juno.com

Hello from Creel,
Thanks for responding to the video. We are supposed to get the rig when funds are raised to bring it from Canada to Mexico. (Lots of "taxes" must be paid). Most of the systems we do are gravity fed. We do have a system where we are using a gasoline generator to pump water up out of a canyon about 500' up. There is not enough regular wind to keep up with the demand for water. This is the dry season here in Chihuahua. It hasn't rained here in the mountains since October.

Also small windmills r not strong enough 2 run generators. They could possibly charge up marine batteries, but like I said the wind here doesnt blow consistently. A better option would b solar panels since there is lots o sun durin the dry season. Panels, charge controllers & battery banks can get pretty expensive. There is water 2 b found in small springs, sometimes we have to run 1/2" to 1" black well pipe for a couple of miles to get it to a village.

We have the same idea about how to use the surplus water. We just need deeper pockets and more folks with the desire and means to help. Please check our website for more info and pic.
