Nice video bud.  How are you anchoring your power snares? And one small tip, when you make your snares, follow the natural bend of the cable so the eye is not binding on the snare. It will close without any binding and increase your catch rate. I like that you bought the wolf model. If I knew now, I would have bought all wolf snares instead of 8 dozen coyote and 2 dozen wolf snares. Except for fox, the wolf model is much better, especially in the snow.

@5911ryan Thank's. I use both Ram 1 and Wolf Springs for coyotes. I guess it's easier in some places to use the Ram 1 then a a Wolf master. But thanks for the tip.

I have 5 feet of cable with a snap on the end to anchor it to a tree.

i thought my buddies were kidding at first when they said power snares are the shit im glad i gave them a try i droped 2700$ on buying 100 wolf master power rams glad i did iv been using 18-20 of them at first and when i saw how effective they were i went nuts and boutch a shot load of them they more than pay for them selves with the amount of fur they produce.

how are you squeezing them and what kind of nut? I thought it was 3/64. Hard to tell in video. But I believe using the 1/16 is much safer with homemade snares. on the 3/64 the nut bends sideways on the cable far to easy. I have used aluminum ferrules with success, but double them up on 3/64 and still do not trust them.

@lotsofmink I've been making my own snares as long as I've been using Rams and only ever had a couple nuts slip, I just squeeze them tight. Going to switch to ferrules though.

And your wrong, thats 1/16 cable.

be very careful with homemade snares for the ram.

I got some used rams from a guy that threw in some homemade snares. Ive had atlas 3 of those snares fire from nuts letting go and moving on the cable. Very dangerous. In the vid thats 3/64 cable? using a 1/16 would provide a better bite on the cable
