This part shows how the leather shoe is formed by the use of a last and how the different parts are fit into the upper and interior leather. This part of making a shoe takes about 2 hours of working time.

  • I would like to know what a cast iron shoe last is used for. I notice you have one on your bench in this video. They're very easy to find, but no matter how much I search on the web I can't find out what they're used for. Could you please enlighten me? Thanks.

  • @fisco303 the cast iron shoe is used for nailing purposes. When we repair worn shoes we add steel nails in order to keep the heel in its place. We place the nails while the shoe rests on this iron shoe. In the video the iron shoe was used by another worker. Thanks for your interest in my videos. Yours, Karsten Konrad

  • It takes about 9 hrs of working time to make a pair of "Business black" as show in the video.

  • only 9 hours! i thought it takes weeks to make a pair!

    where are you guys located?

  • @shakiin000 9 hrs of pure working time to be precise. The shoes need some time to rest on the last. In case one places an order we get the shoes ready for delivery within 15 workdays.

Our firm is located in Wuerselen, germany. Close to the city of Aachen.
