The islands that comprise Great Britain, Northern Ireland and Eire have spawned an unbelievable number of amazing guitarists: household names that have helped shape the sound of modern rock, blues, jazz, metal, fusion, folk and more. That tradition of wonderful players continues, as this album so brilliantly demonstrates. Guitar Heroes showcases not only the technical ability but also the stylistic breadth of talent that lurks right under our noses today. I know most of these guys personally and it cheers me no end to see their work being presented so beautifully in Guitar Heroes. I trust you'll enjoy it as much as I do -- if you want to know what the best of the best sounds like, this is it!
Neville Marten, Guitarist and Guitar Techniques magazines

Over the past hundred years, the humble 6-string has given rise to an unthinkable number of enduring, time-honoured musical traditions. From the Delta Bluesmen who sold their souls to the Devil for their art, to the jazz guitarists of continental Europe, the Rockabilly swingers and the metal rockers - guitar music has evolved and diversified, deeply rooting itself in both the Western and World musical traditions. Whether your tastes lie in the intricacies of the Spanish and Latin guitar stylings, or you prefer warm, fuzzed-out balladry, Guitar Heroes combines Britain's most talented guitarists with the astounding array of genres they've mastered to gain their accolades. Turn up the volume and hear the best of the best!

  • Bluesjamtracks PLEASE MAKE THIS AVAILABLE ELSEWHERE BESIDES ITUNES. Itunes forces you to have a credit card even if you want to buy with paypal. I am a confirmed paypal user with a bank account and I cant buy this Album on itunes because it requires you to still input a valid CREDIT CARD even if you choose Paypal as your payment method. PLEASE!!!!

  • @iJigglypuff

Let us see what we can do. We will talk to EMI and see if there is a possibility of a release other than iTunes. If enough people post on here demanding hard copies there might be conversation about that too. We will try our best!

  • 2:40 is a solo over the backing track "Emotive Ballad", isn't it

    ?

  • @DerCorny

Quite correct. It is the same track Emotive ballad from our Melodic Series that was specially remixed for KPM/EMI. They have changed the title to avoid royalty confusion. I should really plug the fact that there is a full transcription of that solo included in the Melodic Series package if anyone is interested! Go to our jamtrackcentral site and take a look. I'll put a link in the info below this film.

  • will this also be available as a physical copy?

  • @psychopathtoine

Just download for now. I guess if becomes popular enough they might think about selling hard copies. The tracks were designed for use with film and TV but as these guys are star players, EMI decided to make it available on iTunes.

  • @bluesjamtracks Literally waited half a year and still no word on a Flac download of the album nor a direct paypal checkout. I'll die before I use Itunes!!! Make this available for everyone who waited patiently for 6 months! Help us Guthie-wanna Kenobi, You are our only hope!

  • @iJigglypuff Idiot.

  • @iJigglypuff hahahaha you just jealous of guthrie........I'm Bireli fans but Guthrie gypsy playing is awesome....off course Guthrie is not specialized gypsys jazz player but he is can play all styles well

  • that wasnt Django what he was playing-he was improvising over guitar tracks, and he didnt use VINTAGE guitars at all on that track, and you said it sounded pretty bad, wow i wanna see you play like that. lol

  • Guthrie is without question one of the best, but he doesnt hold a candle to Mr. Stochelo Rosenberg or Bireli Lagrene. You are my idol, Mr. Govan...but please don't play anymore Django stuff. It was pretty bad, you had no soul at all on that track, no love at all and you played it on some dumb hilljack type guitar even it was a great vintage guitar...it was a vintage guitar that was not a gypsy guitar and sounded boring.

  • i just bought the album :D

    Its an awesome album :D

  • GUTHRIE <3

  • @iJigglypuff Me too! Give him a good selmer copy and a great backup rhythm player please, as none of them are likely passionate about the style to do it justice. Also, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD AND ALL THINGS HOLY MAKE A FLAC LOSSLESS VERSION AVAILABLE TO US!!! MY GOD!!! ITUNESS SUCKS, I DIDNT PAY all this money for my audio gear to enjoy Guthrie in a haze of terrible audio quality!

  • I wanna hear guthrie do some more gypsy jazz!

  • so I'm transcribing guthries fretless song on my strat, stuck at the first fast run 20 seconds in :/ great album btw, fav acoustic song is andalucian sunset, otherwise Guthrie and alex keep my ears happy
