Tip-toe into the pitch-black lair beneath Sleeping Beauty Castle to discover a very special fairytale creature. Amongst the craggy rocks and dripping water lies a defeated dragon, chained and sleeping - but easily awoken!

This is one fantastical legend that isn't looking for a happily ever after. A huge, monstrous Audio-Animatronic like none you've ever seen before, masterfully hidden under the pleasant green hill to the left of Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant.

The dragon Maleficent is entirely unique to Disneyland Paris and was, at the park's opening, the largest Audio Animatronic ever made. Why doesn't she look like Maleficent in the animated film? Walt Disney Imagineering took their designs for the entire Castle right back to Medieval illustrations and tapestries, creating an experience that feels entirely real yet entirely make-believe...

@0Adne0 I might be going for the first time next year. This is definitley one of the first things I'll do after setting foot in the park. I'm gonna march up to the railing, wake her up and look her straight in the eyes saying: Not so full of yourself now, eh Maleficent?
