@117tribute Good questions. Just like the movie says, it's a mix. Yesterday I did 4 rounds of 25 squat cleans and 800 meter run, but the day before it was 5 sets of 3 thrusters at a heavy weight. Some days you'll try and find your max on a weight, some days you'll feel like your chest is going to explode. Everything can be scaled up or down, can't do push ups, use a resistance band to help, weight to light, make it heavier. It's amazing how I can do a 5 min work out and feel sore.

I'm not bashing Crossfit but it just seems that these workouts are designed for people who are moderately fit. I just want to know how these workouts actually get every part of the body.
It also seems they are all about high reps which is excellent but in my experience its best to mix high reps low weight exercises with low reps high weight exercises along with a mixture of weights and body weight exercises. I just see these workouts as being too easy. let me know how to make them harder.

@SetMusicFree BJJ is just as intense as Crossfit, I agree. I don't think it pushes your cardio and stamina more than Crossfit. No one can push themselves past their limits, no matter what their doing. Sometimes an easier day for me is doing some sparring drills/actual fighting, sometimes not.

Crossfit is da bomb

@happy601 Athletes also lift in order to prevent injury. Lifting heavy will strengthen ligaments and tendons and that will prevent injury during their sport. I don't think doing those swinging pull ups like cross fit does will prevent injury; it will create injury.
I wonder what the BUDS graduation rate is for men trained by these guys? Stew Smith still offers the best pre-SEAL workout (pushups, situps, dips, calasthetics, running, swimming).
Don't see too many barbells, kettlebells or gymnist ring sets at BUDS. I hope this isn't just something trown together overnight and given the name "tactical" to make it look cool.
