Greetings! Tonight, I wanted something for dessert, but since it is the middle of the week and I didnt plan on anything and I have to get dinner cooked as well, Dump Cake is my go to dessert! This is a dessert that is super quick to prepare and easy because you probably already have the ingredients on hand in your fridge and pantry. Here is what you will need to make Dump Cake:

1 cake mix of your choice ( I used yellow)
1 15 ounce can of drained fruit of your choice (I used Peaches)
1 15 ounce can of fruit of our choice with juice (I used Peaches)
1 20 ounce can of crushed pineapple (I have also used pineapple chunks or tidbits)
1 stick of butter cut into small cubes

Spray a 9 x 13 baking pan with non stick cooking spray. Dump in your drained and un-drained fruit as well as the pineapple with juice. Sprinkle cake mix on top and evenly spread out. Arrange cubed butter on top of cake mix and evenly distribute.

Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes until browned and bubbly. Allow to cool for 30 minutes before serving. Top with whipped cream or Ice cream. Enjoy. This is better the next day and I like it when it is room temperature after the flavors have had time to marry.

Try different combinations. Use Chocolate cake mix and canned pears or canned mandarin oranges. Maybe a pineapple cake mix and pineapples and coconut. Your imagination is your only limit. This is the way I have made it and we all like it. Like I said, we have tried it with canned pie filling but it really isnt as good as the canned fruit and you avoid all that extra sugar and high fructose corn syrup!

I hope you try this and I hope you enjoy it! Until next time, See Ya!

  • The wife is away tonight and the girls and I watched your cake video together and then went to the kitchen to make it! Got 20 more minutes......and we are pacing. Cake and cookies for dinnner!! When the cat is away.....WE PLAY!!! 5 stars.

  • OH BOY! Cookies AND cake for dinner!? Lucky girls. In our house we usually have the cake for breakfast and I always think of that Bill Cosby bit that he used to do about feeding his kids chocolate cake for breakfast and his wife turning into Medusa. I am so glad you made that and wait for it to cool a bit and don't forget the vanilla ice cream, I mean if you're gonna go for it, go for it right? If you have any left, tomorrow it will be even yummier. Don't cover it all the way it gets mushy.

  • This is so tempting......ok I'm going to make it.

  • I hope you do try it. I know that you are doing so good on your eating plan, but sometimes, we just need a treat. I would stick with the canned or frozen fruit instead of the pie filling, unless you have canned your own, because of the artificial crap in it. I am trying really hard now to stay away from the high fructose corn syrup and anything that is chemical. I even have the girls reading lables! Ever since we watched Food Inc. We have changed a lot of stuff. Thanks! Love ya, Noreen

  • Hi Girlfriend, I've never heard of a dump cake before. The sure looks toooooooooooooooooooo gooooooooooood. That's smart on making the butter cubes. You're very smart. This is ingenious! I would have never thought of it because I'm dumb. I know why someone is coughing in the background. That way they get to eat all of the dump cake. That person is smarter than both of us. Yes, it's beautiful. Oh my goodness....I don't have a plate. I will try it. Thanks for the beautiful and fun time. LOL

  • I'll give it a try. It appears it would take some serious effort for me to mess this up.

  • I tried this one tonight, it was delicious but I must admit I went wrong somewhere, probably. The juice bubbled over so now I know not to put that much juice in it. Some of the cake was still powdery it didn't get any of the butter and I don't think I left it in the oven long enough because some of the cake was underdone. I'm prepared now for the next time I make it thanks for the recipe I loved it and it was soooooo simple.

  • We are having a dinner here for my sisters birthday and im going to try this out. Thanks :)

  • Thanks for the great video! You did a great job explaining each step of the resipe and mostly it was great that you showed what the inside looked like after it's baked. Most people forget that part and I think it 's very important. Great job! Paula

  • Love this dish for a quick desert. I always go with the 2 cans of blueberris and 1 can of crushed pineapple .. Comes out perfect everytime. Good video :). also put pecans on the top as well when baking. SOOOOO goood

  • can i use more than two types of fruit.

  • I'm going to make this for a picnic.I will but frozen peaches as they taste so much better than canned peaches.I also will add a can of cherry pie mix.I cover the cake in pecans the last 15/20 mins of baking.

  • this is a great cake, it was a favorite of mine and with the ease of the recipe it allowed my 3 year old granddaughter to cook along side of me! building memories! easy and reasonable. we like cherry pie filling and pineapple. and some people add cashews or pecans......not me though! enjoyed your video!
