Growing up in Scotland all i have ever heard is how evil thatcher was and how she and the conservatives ruined scottish industry.

Fuck that this woman is amazing! She turned Britain from a 3rd rate country with a crap economy into one of the richest, most advanced countries with a great standard of living.

She is one of Britains greats, and more women should aspire to her ideology of being the best you can regardless of gender.

As a foreign observer of British politics, I think there can be little doubt that her sex and her class caused her to have to put up with a lot of crap from the Tory Establishment, and this made her tough and suspicious, maybe more suspicious than the reality warranted.

In a sense she was used politically by the Tory Establishment, as a new element who revitalized the party, and was discarded when she outgrew her usefulness. The British political elite is a very savvy one.

I don't think we will ever see another woman politician with the talent of Thatcher. She was in a class of her own. Patriotic and a great servant to Great Britain.

I doubt British politics will ever see such a heartless, soul less person as her. Her drive for efficiency may have elevated our economy, but at the cost of countless people's livelihoods. Was it really worth it?

m8 the scotts were right. And I dont care if you torys start attacking me for my comments or not cos i repect all the partys( Except BNP) but thatcher ruined our industry and eventually our economy for some it worked for others it failed dramatically.

As always. The key function of Conservative governments of the last 100 years has been to clear up the mess left by a Labour government.
