  • @TopSpeedPerformance1 Thanks man, I really appreciate all of the help. I didn't know that could have been such a problem. Yeah I remember the bike became noisier, but different sounding. Turned out to be that he had the wrong measurements. When I rode to his home to have it redone, he worked a bit sloppy but it also began to rain. I sent you a friend invite and subscribed to your channel. I need to have the first time maintenance done on my Vulcan and want to do it myself. How hard is it? Thanks

  • I didnt see him put the pistons of the ones hes checking in top dead center. Big no no. Other than that he did good. Advice. You dont have to take the cam out to replace a shim. Zip tie them to the timing chain and lift. It will never come out of time

  • @TopSpeedPerformance1 Thanks for the heads up man, I didn't even know about that and it's good to know. I didn't love the way it rode after and so he had to redo it since he messed up on the measurements the first time. Hopefully he did it right the second time around. I sold the bike since then and now have a Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom. I remember reading about the top dead center and it's importance. I do remember him pushing the pistons up and down, maybe that didn't get on the recording.

  • @pady999 oh yeah, love those cars but now that their mileage is so high, u gotta get new motors and tranys or rebuild them. I really like the twin turbo models, besides their engines are very strong even for the basic models. Sorry to hear yours was totaled, they are historical cars.

  • No problem man. If he had to redo it cause it rode like crap then he didnt check the clearance before putting it back together. There is a certain order you check in. You cant just go down the line or any random order. That could have caused a bad problem like droppin a valve and it smackin your piston at 60 mph. Nowhere to go but down on the pavement if that would have happened. One of my friends has a 2001 vulcan classic 900. I do all of his work. Hes never had a problem. Too bad he and the b
