3D Ocean Scene

This is a 3dsmax/vray ocean shader test. Waves are made with a combo of max and vray displacement. Ripples are bump map and white caps and foam are falloff. Animated vray sun/sky timelapse.

dude could you have text come out of the ocean, have water drip off of it and have it float in midair? if i get 3ds max would i be able to do that? oh and how well could i render something like this with a quad core @2.6Ghz 8GB RAM? (or does rendering depend on graphics card? because i have a sloppy Radeon HD 4650)

Realflow would be the plugin for that. It's cpu, graphics card won't make a difference in rendering time with 3dsmax

That's faster than any of my machines so I think it would be fast. I think I originally rendered this on a dual core. Depends a lot on resolution
