Whales being close to extinct is a myth, Iceland is hunting so few whales that they are still increasing their population not decreasing. We have tens of thousands of whales so there is no way we can decrease their population considering how few we hunt. This also goes for most if not all the other nations that hunt whales.

We are hunting 100 Common Minke Whales or Northern Minke Whales, (Balaenoptera acutorostrata).
They are far from being in any danger of extinction and will never be because of our actions (if a sudden drop in population is seen then we of course we will stop the hunting).
Overpopulation of some whales isn't good for the fish populations.
Whale meat was a life safer back in the day when we where poor. Nowadays there is still market for whale meat, visiting tourists eat a lot of it.

and then of course theres amnesty international i believe they are fielding the subject of "fighting for people" im not sure how well there doing with that. even so you are not thinking of the ecological and global environmental effects that Wales have on our oceans. our oceans NEED WALES!
