  • Danke tausendmal! Immer wieder wundervoll, Ihre Lieder und Ihre Videos! Sooo schöne Bilder, sooo schöne Musik - phantastisch!

  • Hello Graefin von Vienna! I love your comments and please, continue doing like this. You are building my VERY tired spirits up...! Thanks, thanks

  • Never knew there was a band with the name of Arcadia Peacock! Did they wear long feathers with blue-green eyes?

  • Well, I think they just were a group of the young, white and black men, dressed in their modest frock coats, who every day at 9.30 pm started playing in some neglected suburbian dance hall, calling itself "Arcadia", their cornets, accordions, trumpets and saxophones

  • it has been a very long time, but i remember the arcadia ballroom; it was in a sad state of disrepair and shuttered; i was a young man then. later i found some records on okeh with the band you are featuring today; with a great deal of imagination, i can see the dancers trotting across the ballroom floor. i would have loved to have heard tram and bix when they played at that ballroom, but i must settle for shellac reminiscences....not all that bad i guess. thanks from st.louis.

  • Thank you for your story! Next time I am uploading of some item from the glorious St Louis ragtime era - e.g. Rodermich's Orchestra - I will do a little keener search for the old St Louis photographs. Perhaps I'

ll find one of Arcadia ballroom looking as it did in the Bix's time?
