Hello.Thank you for watching my video and for leaving me a comment.

This MTH-made locomotive has a factory installed smoke unit.

  • @houtokur8 I counted 7 stock cars. I think you mistaked the caboose for the 8th stock car.

Yes,as you mentioned this steam loco is expected to pull many freight cars, maybe more than a hundred cars.

  • @musukari1031 now that´s really bad information about such a large steam loco! With 12 driving wheels it should normally be able to pull a long train. But it´s mostly the traction wheels that decided about how much the engine can pull. I think it could pull at least 30 freight cars when equipped with traction tires...

Hello. Thank you for viewing my video.

As a matter of fact, this MTH's UP #9000 locomotive is too light to pull a long train. I am afraid it needs to have extra weight and traction wheel rubber.

  • i wonder how many cars that locomotive can pull

Hello.Thank you for watching my video and for leaving me a message.

I use 31" radius curves on my track. I think this radius curves are enough loose for big engines having many drive wheels.

  • @houtokur8 Any idea what radius curves you have on this track? I run a 2-10-2 at my local club and it has no problem on the main line. Just can't go down into the oil yard, have to use the diesel switcher there. Or a 2-8-0 or 0-6-0.

  • @musukari1031 Ok thanks for replying so fast.

Hello.Thank you for watching my video.

Yes,as you turn off the smoke unit switch, the engine will not puff.

  • Can you run it with out the smoke unit going ?
