I LOVE to travel. And I mean the actual movement from point A to point B. I'm a huge fan of road trips. But there's a special place in my heart for train travel - particularly on the German trains.*

During the 41 weeks since I've moved to Berlin I've gone on countless train trips between Berlin and Hamburg to see my parents and some of my oldest friends.

This one-minute video shows you impressions out the window of the Berlin-Hamburg-Berlin ICE (Intercity-Express) from all four seasons (including this 41st week).

By the way I ended up not messing with the speed of the shots - the high-speed trains tend to vary in speed depending on the situation.

Vor 21 Jahren habe ich Dich verlassen, weil die Reichshauptstadt lockte, mit einem warmen Plätzchen im Führerbunker und dem Plattenbau im sonnenbeschienenen Marzahn und neuerdings der Seenplatte von Köpenick.

Aber jetzt kann ich in 60 Sekunden zu Dir eilen, wann immer ich es will.

Wow.... European Countrysides are beautiful and good videography. Good job. Besides being a fan of soccer I'll request you to show me Berlin Olympic Stadium(Olympiastadion), if it is possible for you.

@Bjorkfan77 Ah, der Heiko ist Autofahrer. Das hat natuerlich auch Vorzuege. Mit dem Auto fahr ich extrem selten. In der Stadt kommt man ja sehr gut ohne klar. In Brooklyn hatte ich mal ein Auto fuer ein Jahr oder so - aber es gab nie Parkplaetze und dann ist jemand eingebrochen und hat den Kassettenrekorder (!) geklaut. Da hat's mir dann wieder gereicht. Zurueck zu Bahn, Bus und Fahrrad.

@ericdeshaies I hadn't thought of it. But yes, I guess you're right. I always notice it on the subways and subway stations how much cleaner it is here than in NYC.

@VanceSova Thank you for sharing your thoughts. It's my favorite mode of transportation. For some reason it also feels the safest. I don't know if that's true though.
