Eight Belles Tribute

This video is a dedication to Eight Belles, the only filly in the Kentucky Derby of 2008. At the end of the race, she collasped after coming in second place. Rest in peace.

Horseracing is just a sport where freak things happen, like everything else. I'll bet more horses die out in the wild then in the racing world. But I think that when the industry introduces the polytrack surface to all the tracks in America, it should help the horses alot.

Yesterday morning the great calfornia bred Nashoba's key, kicked her stall and broke her leg and was euthanized. Another great one gone too soon. Rip, beautful girls.

Ya'll don't forget how manny human athletes have such injuries, runners, gymnasts, basketball, and baseball players all commonly pull muscles, sprain joints, and fracture and break bones. But humans can recover from these much better than horses can. I once saw on a Nature program, where a stallion injured his leg sparring with another stallion. What do you think happened to him with no vet or anyone to take care of him?

i dont like horse racing but horses are built to run. i can only put it down to a fall or the running surface. something needs to change!!!

I feel bad and it really is a shame that she had died because her ankles broke, but what I cannot understand is why they did. Did they have too much pressure, or did she just trip? If you know for sure, please respond to this message.
