Surprised that Hinault did not have a team mate there to help him...unless they were all down the road but someone should have hung back for him or have been riding with him

Love the ghostly Hinault floating over the scenes . . . If it hadn't been for his knee problems, he'd have won the Tour six times straight from 78 to 83.

it was a close win for Hinault in 78 and 79 over Zoetemelk, zoetemelk was mend to win in 1980 that one and he deserved it, he would have beaten Hinault even if he would not have pulled out. All top sportspeople get some sort of problem sooner or later, one cannot use it as an excuse. Zoetemelk was beating everybody in early 1974( merckx too)untill he made a near deadly crash and was out for half year
