Battle of Suomussalmi:

The Battle of Suomussalmi was fought between Finnish and Soviet forces in the Winter War. The action took place from around December 7, 1939 to January 8, 1940.

The outcome was a major Finnish victory against vastly superior forces. In Finland, the battle is still seen today as a symbol of the entire Winter War itself.

Over 25 000 Soviet-soldiers died in the Battle of Suomussalmi and only 800 finnish soldiers died in the batte

  • WHY THE HELL CAN'T ALL OF EUROPE STILL HAVE THEIR TRENCHES AS THEY WERE BACK THEN?!?!?! IT WOULD BE SOOOO COOL TO SEE THAT IN NORMANDY OR GERMANY!

  • thats near my farm!! iv been to those same trenches so many times usualy when i visit the museum and then drive to the boarder. you knw they are building new trenches there they are pretty awsome :D
