(Lyrics)
Far far away, on a sun kiss'd isle,
Lives the one that I adore.
Where moonbeams play, on a distant bay,
That I long to be once more.
Strolling 'neath the Oriental moon,
Each night you'll find me for very soon,

I'll sail away to Mandalay
Where the charms of someone's arms are calling me
And there I know I'll plan to stay
With the one who's waiting patiently
Beside a stream where roses dream
I'll build a nest that's blest with love and happiness
I'll hide away in Mandalay,
And for aye I will stay in Mandalay.

  • @bhsisthebest Thank you very much for your comment. I have a few new transitions but I try not to over-use them!

  • Thank you for posting, I like your transition of burning celuloid very much. And of course. The song and information all together with lyrics. Keep posting, please!

  • @pax41 Thank You. I think Jolson was the best "personality" entertainer of his era.

  • I like this one Bill. Jolson was always a great performer with a lot of style. I like your cool transition too.

  • @LStrachey Thanks! I still have a few more of his early recordings that I will get to eventually.

  • So fine -- I thought I'd heard most of his recordings, but this is a new one.
