  • Graphite is easy to machine on lathes or mills it takes no special tooling high speed or carbide tooling works fine, graphite comes in several grades some is denser and some comes copper impregnated like poco C3 it is best for fine details and high resistance to wear.

  • Graphite is machinable, it's just very abrasive. Typically, diamond coated mills are used.

  • It is very easy to machine graphite as it is a rather soft material.

  • its too hard for a mill or a lathe so they use an edm machine

  • how easy is it to machine graphite? (turn/mill) i've never used it.

using copper but looking for something with longer tool life.

  • this is great :)

For those who don't know what this is about and are too lazy to click the link: with this technique, it's like drilling random forms
