I'm a huge fan of fighting games, as such I'm always on the look out for both new and old ones. One fighting game I came across many years ago was Capcom Fighting All-Stars for the PS2 and Arcade. The title would pit characters from different Capcom games against one another, in a 3D style fighting game. The game was never released though, so today on Gaming Mysteries I talk about it.

  • The game was not cancelled it was only released on Japanese Arcade only. never released to the states. You can also look it up on YouTube of some Japanese playing the Arcade in Japan.

The game is not really cancelled, it was just left on Arcades in Japan, which sucks because I really wanted to play this game.

  • @VTwinty That footage is from the games beta test. The title saw a limited release in Japanese arcades which is where it got the negative feedback I talked about in the video. Ultimately, this game was cancelled for all platforms though.

  • I can't believe people complained about the game, It looks great! and in the trailer the spelled beginning wrong.

  • @Takahashi2212 I agree, but some people are close minded like that, unable to embrace change. It's sad because if there's one thing I feel gaming could benefit from as a whole is trying new things.

  • dee dee was in street fighter alpha 3... he wasn't new

  • @benjamillion I think you're confusing D.D.(the character I mentioned in the video) with Dee Jay.

  • @xTheBeastOfTheEastx And visuals are what I'm referring to. As I said, the game got negative feedback for having 3D graphics, I'm sure the gameplay came into question as well, but some people hated the game simply because it wasn't a Capcom fighter with 2D graphics, just as some people hate that Capcom's newer fighters have 3D graphics, even if it's still a 2D game at it's core. God forbid there be 3D anything in a Capcom fighting game.

If no one's guessed yet, I hate purists.

  • I hate it when people negativly review a game for idiotic reasons. For exaple, the Sonic fanbase make stupid arguments like "Modern Sonic sucks because he has green eyes." or "AHHHHHHH! 3D graphics and voice acting? It's the end of the world!!!!!!!" I HATE that! Why can't we all just respect ther people's opinions and move on with our lives?

  • lol this game looks exactly like tekken dark ressurection for psp just with capcom characters.

  • you should do a gaming mysteries video ion how sonic 2006 (aka sonic next gen) was un finished and how it should have been finished

  • If the game was canceled just because of 3D, it was a huge mistake.

I am one of those people who actually liked the EX series and if you play SFEX3 you can see few similarities with SF4.

  • Anyone notice mispelled "beginning?"

  • Oh what I wouldn't do to own one of those beta cabinets.
