That's a polite way of saying:
Ford realised the limo was a good idea and so cut Lehmann-Peterson out of the loop.

@pianoplayeruk Doubtful, why then didn't Ford start producing their own limousines, Moloney and others went on to produce aftermarket Ford/Lincoln limos, not Ford Motor Company or Lincoln-Mercury.
