Zimbabwe's water crisis - 23 Sep 07

Residents in Harare are now frightened to drink from their taps, amid claims that the river supplying the city may be contaminated. Others have no running water at all.
As Al Jazeera's Haru Mutasa reports, people are starting to get fall ill as they take water from springs and boreholes.

Exactly! In 1980 Zimbabwe population was 6 million and they complained about lack of fertile land in black hands. Now almost all white farms are eliminated and all land is the hands of blacks, but there is still not enough of it because the population now is 15 million. With this kind of demography completely unsupported by the economic growth they will never have enough of anything!

When early explorers arrived in parts of Africa the wheel had yet to be invented, according to their diaries. Which obviously would point to a less than advanced civilization.

Life expectancy is 32 years old. All infrastructure is gone. No water, no electricity, no food, nothing left but to rebuild. All this accomplished in 10 short years. Advanced civilization....sheesh they hadn't even invented the wheel when the west arrived.
