Here is my instrumental cover of the song "Runaway" which was a hit in 1961 for Del Shannon. It was written by Del and keyboard player Max Crook. It went to #1 on the Billboard 100 chart in February 1961.

I played this one on my Fender Stratocaster (Bridge Pickup) and a Zoom G2.1Nu unit programmed with Charlie Hall's EFTP (Echoes From The Past [Patch A9]). I recorded to my laptop and used Cubase for recording and mixing, The backing track was from http://www.karaoke-version.co.uk

I hope you enjoy my rendition of this classic

  • This is one fine tune and you play it so well Chris. I remember when I was growing up my friends and I would call the local radio station and request this tune along with many others. The DJ always rewarded us with our favorite songs. Great job my friend and as usual, your Strat is sounding supurb...Cheers..

  • @Seazer009 Hi Wayne!

This is another of my personal favourites and it's great that you enjoyed my recording. Was another that I found at an early age and loved the music and lyrics. Was a lot of fun making this one. It's fantastic that you enjoy my uploads :)

  • @chrishampton1981 You are welcome . Mike

  • @TheGraywolf661 Hi Hans!

Thank you for your very kind comments and I agree with you entirely. I've always felt that the best music is the kind that is played live and straight from the heart. Too much music today feels so artificial and has no heart at all. This why the 60's have inspired me a lot plus bands such as Pink Floyd, ABBA, The Beatles, and of course The Shadows

More tunes will be coming very soon

    Best Wishes

Thank you for such kind words and glad you enjoyed this. Sounds like a super date.

The 60's did give us so much great music and it's a pleasure to play it as that helps to keep it alive for everyone to enjoy. More tunes coming soon

    Best Wishes
