Mega Man 10 - Dr. Wily Stage 1 (FM cover)

A Thunder Force style cover! The rhythm guitar section is made out of 3 channels; the second one is an overdub hard-panned to the right. The third one is a copy of the first channel, with the sound patch changed to focus more on the high end and detuned 17 cents to provide a chorusy feel.


The FM drums were programmed in TFM Music Maker, then sampled for use in FLStudio. Otherwise I would have had to re-enter the pitchbend data on every individual drum note, which is very annoying.

This rocks! You're the first I've come across that done megaman 10 music justice on a megadrive.

Its pretty clear from this and from your previous tracks that you seem heavily influenced by games made by technosoft/sega/treasure etc. Not that their is anything wrong with that, these guys were the ones that pushed the chip the most. Do you ever consider doing mega drive music in a different style in the future?

@KnightSparhawk Yeah, I'd like to nail the style of Hitoshi Sakimoto's soundtracks like Devilish or Gauntlet IV. He programmed really good choir-like sounds, and blended PSG+bell sounds in a way that made for a very vibrant feel.
