@Gheegharm It works you just need to delete the file opengl32.dll in your quake folder, Windows vista and 7 don't like that file too much,

@badmangod If your trying to run QuakeGL you will need to go to your quake folder and try deleting opengl32.dll that should correct the problem.

im trying to run it but before it starts up it registers an error and crashes... ive never played quake 1 and i love the series, can you help? i have windows 7 64 bit. tho i got the game on a free download. its all there but i cant get it to run at all.

@JanErikEdvartsen Amen to that sir. Doom 3 had a hint of Quake 1 in it. But still not enough.

@bionicledragon Love Hexen 1 and 2 and Heretic 1. Those along with Quake 1 - legendary stuff.

@stufaman True. Quake 2 was generic sci-fi, and Quake III was just a mindless frag-fest. And Q4, a sequel to a generic shooter - how inventive. Should've remade or made a sequel to Quake 1 instead.

@GhostReconGuy I didn’t install the game, it was already installed on my E: drive, where all my games are installed. I just clicked the game exe in Windows 7 and it worked.
