Me doing a nice parking in GTA IV, and looking for a good render option =)

Okay, so I know I'm gonna get a load of questions about my rig and stuff... I'll answer it all.
First of all, I don't play at this framerate normally, but I used the "in-game-capturer" to make this clip and then render to 720p.
My rig:
AMD Athlon 64 4600+ X2 @2.41Ghz
2GB RAM
ATi Radeon 4850 512MB

Yeah, believe it or not, but it actually works out pretty good, even though GTA IV is optimized bad and needs kind of an animal of computer to run well. Also note that I'm running on Windows Vista, that makes it even worse. I'm gonna go back to XP and maybe do a benchmark, if I get many requests.
Anyway, I'm playing at 1440x900, textures on medium, render quality medium, view distance at 20, detail distance at 10, vehicle density at 40 and shadow density at 4.
Even if I put every setting to 0 and textures to low, I wont get more than 30fps, on my current settings, I have an average at about 20fps.

Just leave a comment or send me a message if you wish me to do a benchmark on Windows XP and see how it runs.

  • hey will this work on my pc??

    AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor 4400+ (2 CPU's), ~2.3 GHz

    2 GIG Ram

NVIDIA GeForce 6150 SE nVidia 430

  • I don't really think so with your graphics card =/

  • THis looks just awesom on youtube. Here u cant see shadows n flickerin I think rockstar wont ever release a hot fix for pc TO fix that awful looking problms. As i see this is made with the vid editor, vids made with the vid editor when edited they are rendered, so they'll run at 60 fps, not at the fps that u got while recording, this is a good thing cos its really unplayable using fraps, even with my q9550 and 9800 gtx sli or amd 955 black edition 3.2 and shappire hd4890 1gb vapor.

  • Yeah, the game is really bad optimized, so it's lagging like hell with fraps for like anyone :P And yeah, you are right about the framerate, so this is not my "normal" framerate while playing.

  • @MrRezu - i seriously DOUBT IT - with a 4870 32bit vista and 4gb ram plus an overclocked system even mine seemed to struggle with it

now ive got rid of the overclocking, gone up to 8gb ram and changed to 5870 its runs perfect! so with your pitiful 2gb ram... i doubt it
