I grew up watching my parents dance to Marty's songs, how blessed am I to be have been able to find a true appreciation for a true artist, Mr Marty Robbins, simply amazing, I'm sure he is teaching the angels in heaven to sing. RIP

what a wonderful voice Marty had thanks so much for posting and sharing it with every one!

Timi Yuro simply owns this song. Elvis does a good version also.
-
he had a phenoinal voice and this is only one of many examples of his talent. we miss you marty! there will never be another like you.

Yeah: Original hit was by Timi Yuro, but the King had the most beautiful and powerful one shortly before his passing away.

This man did a a very nice and personalised to this song. A great performer!

Brings tears to the eyes, he was so good...

beautifull version. that`s a new one to me.

Not a bad rendition of a lovely song, but although Timi Yuro had a hit with this song, she was not the original singer. Look up Roy Hamilton who sung it in 1954.

Tarquin, you're right - Timi Yuro did have the original hit in 1961, on Billboard's Hot 100. Roy Hamilton had a Top Ten hit with "Hurt" on the R&B charts in 1955 - but it did nothing on the pop charts. Roy's version has yet to make it to You Tube.
