Hello Sadie, This video of yours is awesome, I really taught you are cool.

Hi Sadie! This is wonderful! I was taught this - though with no realization of its connection to yoga - when I was a little girl. My mom taught me to roll my blanket into a ball, place it under my belly and rest on it when I had a stomach ache and of course I'd feel calm and soothed, but like you've said it's been wonderful for winding down after a stressful day or to just come down a bit. Thanks so much for sharing this!

Hi Sadie I tried this and could immediately felt a rush through me to where I almost felt like I was going to black out then became nauseated do you have an idea why this may have happened? It felt so good in the beginning. I did feel an immediate high feeling with in seconds. I have tried everything to help me sleep at night and nothing works.

Sadie, this might be a silly question but does this work as well for men? My boyfriend has trouble sleeping and does not dream I want to help him and prove to him that yoga works!! Please help me!

You're right about this helping cramps too. I've talked to many women who have used this, or something very similar, and had great cramp relief with it!
My stomach has been really upset since my Mom passed three weeks ago. I feel like all the stress is bottled inside of my abdomen. I learned this from another Yogi prior to seeing your video, but you actually inspired me to try it. It really relaxed my tummy and my mind. Love this.
xo-KT (The girl who sent you a photo of me dead on the floor after one of your yoga practices!) :D

@Neequu78 Hi darling! My thoughts are with you and your family now...and I'm happy to hear you're not letting it all stay bottled up inside you. Keep in touch, and keep doing the Belly Roll. Namaste. Sadie

I have struggled with an eating disorder most of my life. I was thinking that maybe food is used to stimulate this release in serotonin (subconsciously). Perhaps my body has been trying to self medicate. I had no idea this is where serotonin was stored. I have been taking SSRI's for years. I will try this exercise for a couple of weeks and see if my thinking is on the right track. thanks for sharing this with us!

Would Nauli Kriya have the same effect as this?
YogiLonnie 1 year ago
@YogiLonnie Hey there--I find Nauli Kriya is more a yang technique, stimulating the digestive fire, or agni, and also therefore it's a central nervous system stimulating and waking posture. The Belly roll is cooling, yin, calming, and far more effective for those who are seeking calm, and sleep. Namaste!
