@spdmot I agree with almost everything you said. I bought a WP7 device just to develop for it. I still carry my android with me, but I can't bring myself to program in Java over .Net. I really wish everyone would jump on the WP7 train, because I really like the interface. I just can't go without the apps available on Android.
@Hiei102493 Besides being cross platform (huge advantage) and having more code libraries I haven't found something in java that c# lacks. it's actually vice versa.
But... I do want to develop for all these other platform, who owns WP7? Unless WP rules the mobile market with over 90% it's far from being good enough.
It's a shame what I deem as the best language with the best frameworks is the only one not to be cross platform.
all you ever find on the net are .net vs php debates... what most fail to state is .net is a framework whereas php is a language, so the two can't be compared.... it would make more sense to compare vb.net to php

@GabrielCardelli How so?
Java, as a language, is missing many features found in C#.
Applets are slow and rare compared to Silverlight.
Netbeans (or Eclipse, even though it is not made by those who make Java) is nowhere near as good as Visual Studio.
JVM works with fewer languages and is slower than the CLR.
Android development is crap next to WP7.
What does Java have over Microsoft Technologies?
Where are the java equivalents of DirectX, XNA, Windows, MSSQL or any other Microsoft Technologies?

@Hiei102493 Java > Microsoft Technologies

@foreign96man
ASP.net > any PHP framework
C# > PHP
SQL Server > MySQL
Thus, Windows Server > Apache

I agree. Apache totally changed the internet and is one of the reasons linux was able to grow.
