Her Republican challenger in the 2006 NY Senate race proposed multiple debates with her, and she turned him down.

That's how politics works. If you know you're all but certain to win a race (as Obama was @ the time of Hillary's proposal), you don't agree to debates with your opponent.

Debate for what? It's over. He's going to be the nominee. Hilary's whole purpose now is to pulled him back into the bucket like a crab does when they see another making it out.
