Peltiers are interesting, but as one side get's hotter, the other side needs to get colder, this is not efficient enough.

why did u put a heat sink on the side youre trying to get hot? seems this is why it doesent work well even when you blowtorch it... cool insight though

Congratulations, you just converted 100W into 1W. I don't know about heat from the sun, wouldn't it be easier and more efficient to just use a solar panel?

Make one of these thing HUGE: 1 side in the middle of the earth, and the other side in space. Heat diffirence: 5000 Dregree :)
