Cooling the brain of an infant that has experienced birth hypoxia (lack of oxygen) helps the brain recover from injury.

Infants suffering a lack of oxygen who receive cool cap therapy have a greater chance of reducing their risk of death or permanent brain damage.

Phoenix Children's is one of only two neuro-nicus in the country with this technology.

  • the cooling therapy did not work for our son and as far as i know it is not that successful as she is telling us about it. it helps 1 in 100 kids that is the fact not just talking a lot of rubbish.

  • Our baby went on cooling therapy here in London and we are so grateful for the outcome!

  • Phoenix Children's Hospital, Doctor Carballo and all the nurses on the newborn NICA are amazing. We will have you in our hearts forever. Thank you.

  • This is amazing

  • I would love to see a followup video of the baby.
