Kimberly Seals Allers, author of the Mocha Manual, moderated a Women's eNews panel on the stereotypes that harm mothers in New York on October 19. Panelists were Terry Helwig, author of Moonlight on Linoleum and Kyoko Gasha, journalist and filmmaker.
I'm sure this woman means well. She reminds me of my mother. She mentioned, "I don't have time for my children, let alone my husband", yet she has time vindicate herself to PTA mothers. Basically, she wants the world to see her as superwoman but behind the sense she is stepping on a box. What is the point of children if you don't have time for them? It is not a question of if, but when. When will the script flip on us in our old age when our children will be too busy & not have time for us?
