@melonade97 I'm a year ahead of you - passed my test this year and getting a big bike next year so looking at the same kinda stuff. Jeans are ok for bimbling around town to go to the shops but if you're doing any kind of quicker runs or longer rides I'd go for leathers all the way. Much better protection, even though kevlar jeans are better than normal jeans they don't protect you nearly as much. Depends on how much you value your skin.

Hahaha, can't believe you put the 'cooch cake' joke in the prequel, lmao!

So I'll be getting my first bike next year so I have a lot of time to think about things like this but I'm planning to get the helmet, gloves, boots but do you recommend leather motorcycle pants or would jeans be fine?

My boots squeak! Well, squeaked, till i got new ones, my squeaky ones were TCX Competizone boots :D Now i got some Gaerne boots, some slight squeak from the ankle when im sat down, otherwise, no squeak :(
If you spray some windex behind the plastic hinge it will temporarily remove the squeaking. They squeak because that joint is plastic on plastic, so adding some lubrication in there gets rid of it. Also, the 2011 model SMX Pluses don't squeak =)

@intdawg good info thanks :)!

The squeaking is from the ankle brace and a good sign the boot is still rigid and protecting your ankles. So when is the check from alpinestars coming your way.

I like alpinestars, good quality but they can be very expensive. My Sidi Adventures squeak too, which is quite annoying.
