My response to http://youtu.be/I6bidVksgOE

By the way, I haven't been tagging videos lately. If I keep doing that, let me know in the comments so I clear it up.

  • But what gary is saying is that the machine by design is broken it does not matter if another consciousness can emerge because that machine will be broken again and they will have to come to the conclusion that there machine is broken...

so in essense it does not matter if it is this cauntiousness or the next one it is ultimately broken and the sooner the next generation of cauntiousness realises that it is broken the better. There is still a huge gap between consciousness that is not suffering

  • @mannyste and how is the machine to judge its own condition objectively?

  • @theskepticalheretic wow he is upset that you made this video and the 'arguments are a waste of time" he said.

  • @AEVautomatic this is a very very old video, we've talked since. Is he newly mad at this video, or is this from long ago?

  • On childlessness as a positive ethical state; having followed Gary’s videos for some time I'm not sure he would ever find himself faced with the dilemma of the condom.

  • @CollegesandCannibals I see no dilemma with the condom, explain.

...I think you might have uncovered the origins of the Reapers from Mass Effect <_<

  • @theskepticalheretic intelligence

  • I understand what you say that if we exterminate consciousness that it is not the end of suffering, another dna molecule will emerge and another consciousness will emerge inevitably.

  • A very high quality video in my opinion. Keep up the good work.

  • @theantinatalist You have yet to prove that it's a strawman. I am simply taking the points that you make and showing them to you. You can't accept the truth of your own beliefs. You say that by ending sentience that you end pain while saying nothing else. That means that you infer that sentience is nothing but pain. You simply can't stand it when somebody refutes your beliefs.

Yes I did say that love is greater than pain. I was wrong about that. But I still say that it balances out in the end.

  • @theantinatalist Where did I say that love is greater than suffering? I have just re-read all of the comments that I ahve made to you reguarding this subject and nowhere in them did I say it. If you would be kind enough to point out exactly where then I'll admit it. If you can't (which I know is the case) then you need to admit that you just lied. Where is it that I strawmanned you? I was repeating what you said and you said that life, or sentience, is pain and suffering.
