The first in a series of videos showing you how to make a first person shooter in the Blender 2.5 game engine. This first tutorial shows how to set up the basic movement(WASD keys) of the player, as well as a simple jump control.

your vid was the biggest help,but i have a small problem when i press "p" and the box starts to move everything is fine but the camera stays in its spot, i see the box move and everything but the camera doesn't follow it i tried Margin and parent it in the begging but nothing and i tried doing it just know but it say no looping or something HELP.

HELP! I am using 2.6 and my charicter jumps at the begining but then you can't jump afterwards... WTF?!

Ok i like this tutorial but I'm using 2.6.1 and every time i go into First Person view and start the game my stupid camera goes to the play screen to move your character its grey and can't see the ground at all

You have to change the shading to GLSL. To do this, go into the properties tab, click on the camera icon, and scroll down to the shading tab, and click GLSL for the shading mode. To go into camera mode and hit Numpad 0. Hope that helps :).

Ohh... thats alright. I just dont like it when beginners are always saying the video sucks and i need voice and i messed them up etc.. i didnt have a mic when i recorded these vids so i just added music instead, lol.

Sadly, no. It gets jammed when you put it in Blend ;)
