How to make an obsidian generator + Nether portal

Step By Step - Obsidian Generator
1. Dig a line out six blocks long in the ground
2. Put water at one side and lava in the other
3. The lava should instantly appear as Obsidian

Step By Step - Nether Portal
1. Get 14 Obsidian Blocks and a Flint and Steel
2. Put 4 blocks on the bottom
3. 5 blocks high up each side
4. Then 4 along the top
5. Use the flint and steel on the frame and a purple haze should appear
6. Step inside and you will be transported to the nether
7. Then step back in to be transported back
