Can anyone buy Capybaras in California USA ? I thought those were for european countrys

California has very strict laws about keeping exotic animals. You would need to check with your state and local governments on what is required. Make sure you read the FACute on Caplin's blog before considering a pet capybara. They are not the right pet for everyone, which is putting it mildly.

So far he is an excellent pet but he is only six months old. We'll have to see how he matures.
