George Bush's administration declared war on Iraq because they believe the nation was harboring weapons of mass destruction and that Iraq was harboring and supporting al-Qaeda, both proven false. Still we chose to occupy the nation for 8 years despite the majority of Iraqis demanding that we leave. The same situation continues in Afghanistan today.

@MarineCorpsFan Oh boy, first - I'm well aware that we are no longer in Iraq, mostly because of Iraq's refusal to accept SOFA which would give US military immunity to Iraqi courts. Second, as you said the President can deploy troops for 90 days, then you admitted that we occupied Iraq for 8 years. Obviously unlawful war. Third we never planned to remove Saddam before 9-11, we supported his regime when he declared war on Iran, and we left him in power after the first Gulf War.
