Society is more than a collection of people, it is about bonding; health care is a right and not a privilege.

The more wealth we have as a nation the more individuals can feel that the metaphor should be about me instead of thee. The religious right in this country is about selfishness not about the golden rule. what would Jesus do?

Do you have whole sectors of society that have grown large enough to politically control large regions of your country. (aside from the Muslim community of course) I doubt the EU has immigrated communities with such power.

Here in the UK there are no groups which are big enough to control a "large region of the country" That includes the Muslim community, which at the last census is only 4% of the population and is pretty much ignored by politicians apart from grabbing headlines. If you mean the EU then A, the EU is not a country and B, it is can't be homogeneous since it so culturally separated. Again, there is no homogeneity in the 27 nation states that make up the EU

Im talking in realitive terms. In comparison to the US the UK could be considered Homogenous. Like the UK, America many ethnic cultures however very few can be ignored. Southern California has such a large Population of Mexicans it could in theory ceceed back into Mexico. I know the EU isnot a country. France however has a very large Muslim Pop and they actually have comparable strength.

The French Muslim pop is only 10% and since they are mainly poor immigrants then I very much doubt their political clout. It has been inflated only by a global media who like sticking pictures of "angry muslims" on their front page for ratings and politicians who use it to score cheap political points with their base. I very much doubt they have the political power of Mexicans in CA where they are almost 40% of the population.

As it stands right now the fraud in Medicare cost Americans about 100Bill per year. The government has virtually no ability to oversee the system. Private insurance companies average about a .5% incidence of fraud because they can protect themselves. In addition the private insurance idustries average margin (a better measure of profit) isabout 4.5% Pretty modest by most standards
