There are times when you need more look up power than you can get from the VLOOKUP Function. For example, when you need to return a value that requires you to look up more than one column (e.g. First Name -1st Column - and Last Name - 2nd Column) in order to return the employees title or manager or hire date.

I share my best practices in this lesson - e.g. using Named Cell Ranges in your Formula. To create this formula you are using an Array Formula and this means that you use the keyboard combination "Ctrl+Shift+Enter" to enter it.

  • Hay DannyRocks, You have helped me in the past, I have 4 issues with my spread sheet. I have been working on this for many, many hours and about to give up. I have searched all over the web to teach myself, but I am stuck.

Need Help. 3 items are VBA and have completed about 85% of the goal with 2 of the VBA.

The other VBA I need to start from scratch.

Last last issue is date & time with cell activation.

Is there anyway you can help outside of the You_Tube forum?

    Thanks

  • I have an acountin sheet dat vlooksup 4 diff columns on anoda sheet (h/i/j/k 6:h/i/j/k 1048576 respectively) in d same workbook. All 4 columns use a SN as criteria.Works ok. Problem is that when I input the SN, excel 2010 begins to calculate at the bottom bar and it could take days before it completes;it eats up my memory, slows my PC. Wat can I do to make it go faster yet lookin up all 4 data? I've even reduced d nos of cloumn cells 2 150000 yet it still take time to calculate.

    Many thanks
