"Cody" was given permanent refuge at Black Pine in 2007 after being confiscated from a private home. After living in a confined area in a basement for several years, Cody was given the opportunity to enjoy a spacious outdoor habitat, probably for the first time in his life and at approx. 11 years of age. Though he suffers from arthritis, he receives daily treatment to ease the pain and has adjusted well to his new home. Notice the "squeeze cage" used to transport Cody - it provides keepers a safe means of administering vaccinations, as seen early in this video.
