Lean On Me - A Jonas Brothers Story - Chapter 3

Alright, here's chapter 3 just like I promised. Now there's some important stuff at the end, so bare with me.

This chapter is dedicated to mrsrandomchica. This is for you deary! Thank you so much for everything. This chapter wouldn't be up now if it weren't for you. Thank you. :)

Alright, here we go.

Chapter 3

Joe's eyes flickered open. He was tangled in his seatbelt, and upside down. Joe felt blood trickling down his right cheek. He turned his head and looked over at Nick.
"Nicholas," Joe spoke softly reaching out to his brother. Nick was also tangled in his belt. His eyes were closed tightly. There were cuts on his face where glass had flown at him. "Frankie," Joe breathed raspily. He could hear the sirens of an ambulance off in the distance.
"Hello," A voice came from outside the car. "Can anyone hear me?"
"Help," Joe cried softly. He reached for the door but his fingers slipped right off. Every window was shattered, and the glass was scattered around. The lights of the ambulance glowed on the trees as it got nearer. Joe turned back to Nick. He said a silent prayer for his brothers, praying that they were okay, that they would live, and he'd have his brothers back.
Two ambulances pulled to a stop by the car. They were joined by a police car and a firetruck. The EMT's hopped out of the ambulances and ran over to the car.
"Hello," an EMT called in to the car. "Can anyone hear me?"
"Help," Joe said softly. An EMT's head came into the window by Joe and looked right at him then around to Nick and Frankie. He climbed back out and yelled to the other EMT's. Joe heard more movement and then the head popped back into the car and the guy kept climbing in.
"It's okay," he said reassuringly. "We're gonna get you out of here." There was a loud crunching sound and a pop as the door came off its hinges. Some one outside passed a long board to the EMT in the car. He laid the board on the ground, then pulled a pair of scissors out of his belt and cut Joe free. Another EMT climbed in and they carefully lowered Joe onto the board and carried him out of the wreckage. They carried him over to one of the ambulances and set him down on the ground. The other EMTs swarmed Joe and began wrapping things around him while asking questions.
"What's your name son?" The EMT strapping a neckbrace onto him asked.
"Joe," Joe replied quietly to the EMT. "Joe Jonas."
"You're in good hands Joe." The EMT said soothingly. Out of the corner of his eye, Joe caught a glimpse of the EMTs pulling Nick out of the wreckage. They yelled to the EMT's around Joe, and almost all of them left to go help Nick. The EMT who'd attached Joe's neckbrace and one other stayed. Joe turned his eyes to look at Nick, but he couldn't see anything through the EMTs. Joe picked up his right arm and reached for Nick.
"Woah there buddy." The EMT who'd attached his neckbrace said as he pulled Joe's arm back and set it at his side. Joe looked up at the EMT as he strapped something onto his leg.
"What's your name?" Joe asked him.
"Carson," He said. "Scott Carson." He turned to look at Joe. It was the first time that Joe had gotten to see his face. He looked about 25. His face was kind and gently. It made Joe feel like he could trust this man.
"Well Scott Carson," He spoke raspily. He could barely breathe but he had to hear the EMTs say it. "Promise me that my brothers will be okay." Scott looked down at Joe with sad eyes. Joe had so much concern in his face. Scott sighed as he finished strapping Joe's leg.
"I promise." He said as looked back at Joe with a smile. Joe tried to smile back but it hurt too much. Scott and the other EMT, Miles, got up and lifted Joe onto a gurney. As they turned Joe around and pulled him into the ambulance Joe caught a glimpse of the EMTs carrying Frankie from the wreckage. It made Joe sad to see his littlest brother like that. He prayed that he'd be okay. Scott climbed into the ambulance as Miles hopped out and went around front. Before Scott closed the doors, Joe look at Nick. He didn't look any better than Joe. He actually looked worse. Joe prayed for Nick as Scott closed the doors and they sped off towards the hospital.
