Ivan is a long time, dedicated teacher of Capoeira Angola and plays berimbau viola very nice. He is not what is commonly referred to as a mestre. He is my comrade, though, and makes beautiful cabacas.

This is Capoeira Angola as taught by Mestre João Grande of Bahia. Mestre João Grande was taught by Mestre Pastinha of Bahia who in turn was taught in Bahia by Benedito of Angola.

do you know of any artist or capoeira song "names" i have been trying to find music but am finding it difficult. great work. keep doing capoeira!

Music CD's are available from Mestre Joao Grande, Mestre Moraes, Mestre Jogo de Dentro and many others have excellent musica and songs. These mestres sing Capoeira Angola songs. Mestre Moraes' CD "Capoeira Angola 2 - Brincanda na Roda" was nominated for a grammy and contains both traditional and new songs.
